AfriSEED makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on the Website is accurate and current.
However, Website information may occasionally contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or information that has changed since publication.
AfriSEED may modify, correct, update, suspend, or remove Website content at any time without prior notice.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Website information should not be interpreted as a guarantee, contractual commitment, or representation that a particular program, opportunity, benefit, service, or form of assistance will be available.
5. Programs, Applications, and Opportunities
Information concerning AfriSEED programs, educational assistance, mentorship, sponsorships, scholarships, volunteering, events, partnerships, or other opportunities is provided for general informational purposes.
Program availability, eligibility criteria, application requirements, deadlines, locations, selection procedures, benefits, funding levels, and schedules may vary or change.
AfriSEED reserves the right, subject to applicable law and any binding commitments already made, to:

- determine the number of participants or beneficiaries;
- modify program schedules or activities;

Submitting an application, expression of interest, enquiry, recommendation, or other form does not guarantee selection, funding, admission, sponsorship, volunteer placement, partnership, or participation.
Program-specific requirements communicated by AfriSEED form part of the applicable conditions of participation.
6. Donations and Fundraising
AfriSEED may accept donations and other forms of financial or in-kind support in furtherance of its purposes and programs.
By making a contribution, you represent that:
- you are legally authorized to make the contribution and use the applicable payment method;
- the information you provide is accurate;
- the funds or property contributed are from lawful sources; and
- the contribution is not subject to conditions that have not been accepted by AfriSEED.
Donations may be processed directly or through banks, payment processors, fundraising platforms, or other third-party service providers. Additional terms and privacy practices of those providers may apply.
AfriSEED may decline or return a contribution where appropriate, including where accepting the contribution could create legal, financial, ethical, safeguarding, operational, or reputational concerns, conflict with AfriSEED’s purposes or policies, or impose conditions AfriSEED cannot reasonably fulfil.
6.1 Tax Receipts
Unless and until AfriSEED Foundation is registered as a charity with the Canada Revenue Agency (“CRA”), AfriSEED does not issue official donation receipts for Canadian income tax purposes.
AfriSEED may provide donors with an acknowledgement or confirmation that a contribution has been received. Such an acknowledgement is not an official charitable tax receipt and does not represent that the contribution is tax-deductible or eligible for a tax credit.
Nothing on the Website constitutes tax, financial, or legal advice. Donors should obtain independent professional advice concerning the tax treatment of their contributions where appropriate.
If AfriSEED’s charitable registration or tax-receipting status changes, relevant Website information will be updated accordingly.
7. Designated and Restricted Contributions
A donor may express a preference that a contribution support a particular AfriSEED program, initiative, or purpose.
Where AfriSEED accepts a contribution as a legally restricted or designated gift, the contribution will be administered in accordance with the terms accepted by AfriSEED, applicable policies, and applicable law.
AfriSEED reserves the right to decline proposed restrictions or conditions that are inconsistent with its purposes, policies, legal obligations, operational needs, or ability to administer the contribution appropriately.
Information presented in a fundraising campaign describing an intended program or use of funds will be communicated honestly and accurately. The specific treatment of a restricted contribution may also be governed by applicable donation documentation or a separate written agreement.
8. Child and Youth Safeguarding
AfriSEED is committed to protecting the safety, privacy, dignity, and well-being of children and young people involved in its programs and activities.
Users must not use the Website, information obtained through AfriSEED, or any AfriSEED communication channel to:

Access to beneficiary information may be restricted where necessary to protect privacy, dignity, safety, or the best interests of the beneficiary.
AfriSEED may immediately restrict communications, access, sponsorship involvement, volunteer participation, or other engagement where safeguarding concerns arise.
Suspected safeguarding concerns should be reported promptly through AfriSEED’s official contact channels.
9. Information Concerning Children and Youth
Certain AfriSEED programs may require information about children or young people for application, selection, program administration, safeguarding, monitoring, evaluation, or related legitimate purposes.
Where required, AfriSEED will seek appropriate consent from a parent, legal guardian, applicant, or participant before collecting, using, publishing, or sharing information, photographs, recordings, testimonials, or other identifiable content.
Information concerning children and young people will be handled with enhanced care and in accordance with AfriSEED’s applicable safeguarding and privacy practices.
Additional consent forms, program agreements, or privacy notices may apply to particular programs.
10. Volunteers
Submission of a volunteer application or expression of interest does not guarantee acceptance as an AfriSEED volunteer.
AfriSEED may establish eligibility, screening, reference, training, safeguarding, confidentiality, background-check, and other requirements appropriate to particular volunteer roles.
Volunteers who are accepted may be required to enter into a separate Volunteer Agreement, comply with a Code of Conduct, and comply with AfriSEED’s safeguarding, privacy, confidentiality, and other applicable policies.
Nothing on the Website creates an employment relationship between AfriSEED and an applicant, volunteer, supporter, or other person.
11. Partnerships and Enquiries
Organizations or individuals may contact AfriSEED regarding partnerships, collaborations, sponsorships, funding, or other opportunities.
Submitting an enquiry, attending a meeting, exchanging information, or discussing a potential collaboration does not by itself create a partnership, agency, employment relationship, joint venture, fiduciary relationship, or legally binding commitment.
Formal partnerships or collaborations may be subject to separate written agreements approved by authorized representatives of AfriSEED.
12. Intellectual Property and AfriSEED Branding
Unless otherwise stated, Website content—including text, logos, graphics, photographs, videos, illustrations, page designs, downloadable materials, branding, slogans, program names, and original written content—is owned by or licensed to AfriSEED Foundation and may be protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may access and view Website content for personal, informational, educational, or other lawful non-commercial purposes.
Unless permitted by law or expressly authorized by AfriSEED, you may not reproduce, modify, republish, distribute, sell, commercially exploit, or publicly present Website content in a manner that infringes AfriSEED’s or another person’s rights.
The AfriSEED Foundation name, logo, branding, program names, slogans, and identifying materials may not be used in a manner that:
- falsely suggests endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation;
- creates confusion about a relationship with AfriSEED;
- misrepresents AfriSEED or its programs;
- solicits funds in AfriSEED’s name without authorization; or
- otherwise infringes AfriSEED’s rights or harms the integrity of the organization.
Permission for legitimate media, partnership, educational, fundraising, or other uses may be granted by AfriSEED in writing.
13. User-Submitted Materials
You may have opportunities to submit information, documents, photographs, testimonials, stories, recommendations, comments, or other materials to AfriSEED.
By submitting material, you represent that:
- you have the right or appropriate authorization to submit it;
- the material is not knowingly false, fraudulent, or misleading;
- submission does not unlawfully infringe another person’s rights;
- the material does not contain unlawful content; and
- where another identifiable person is involved, you have obtained any consent or authorization legally required for the submission.
Submitting material to AfriSEED does not automatically authorize AfriSEED to publish personally identifiable content publicly. Where separate consent is required for publication or promotional use, AfriSEED will seek appropriate authorization.
Do not submit confidential, highly sensitive, or unnecessary personal information through general Website contact forms unless AfriSEED specifically requests that information through an appropriate process.
14. Stories, Testimonials, Photographs, and Impact Content
AfriSEED may publish stories, testimonials, photographs, videos, or other materials to communicate program activities and impact.
AfriSEED will seek appropriate authorization where required before publicly using identifiable personal materials.
Particular care will be taken with content concerning children, young people, and vulnerable beneficiaries.
AfriSEED may reasonably edit voluntarily submitted content for length, grammar, clarity, formatting, translation, or privacy protection, provided that such editing does not materially misrepresent the contributor’s intended meaning.
15. Third-Party Websites and Services
The Website may contain links to or integrate services provided by third parties, including:
- banks and payment providers;
- donation or fundraising platforms;
- social media platforms;
- educational resources;
- government websites;
- event platforms;
- partner organizations; and
- other external websites or services.
AfriSEED does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their availability, content, privacy practices, security, terms, representations, or activities.
A link to a third-party website does not necessarily constitute an endorsement of that website, organization, product, or service.
Users should review the applicable terms and privacy policies of third-party services before using them or providing personal information.
16. Electronic Communications
When you submit an application, donation interest form, volunteer application, partnership enquiry, contact request, or similar communication, AfriSEED may contact you for purposes reasonably related to that submission, including acknowledgement, administration, follow-up, program information, payment instructions, or other relevant communications.
Where consent is required by applicable law for promotional or marketing communications, AfriSEED will seek the appropriate consent.
You may unsubscribe from promotional electronic communications using the unsubscribe method provided in the communication, where applicable.
Administrative, safeguarding, transactional, or program-related communications may still be sent where reasonably necessary or otherwise permitted by law.
17. Privacy
AfriSEED respects the privacy of Website users, donors, applicants, beneficiaries, volunteers, partners, and supporters.
Our collection, use, storage, protection, retention, and disclosure of personal information are further described in our Privacy Policy and, where applicable, program-specific privacy notices or consent forms.
Users should review the Privacy Policy before submitting personal information through the Website.
Information relating to children, young people, and vulnerable beneficiaries is subject to enhanced safeguarding and privacy considerations.
18. Website Availability and Security
AfriSEED seeks to maintain a secure, accessible, and functional Website but does not guarantee that access will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from harmful components.
The Website may become temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, hosting issues, security incidents, technical failures, third-party service interruptions, internet connectivity issues, or circumstances beyond AfriSEED’s reasonable control.
Users are responsible for taking reasonable precautions when accessing online services.
19. No Professional Advice and Disclaimer
Information published on the Website is generally provided for informational purposes.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Website content does not constitute legal, financial, tax, medical, psychological, educational, or other professional advice.
Users should seek appropriately qualified professional advice where necessary.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
AfriSEED does not warrant that the Website will always be available, that every item of information will always be complete or current, that the Website will be free from errors or harmful components, or that Website information will meet every user’s particular needs.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AfriSEED Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, agents, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of, inability to use, or reliance upon the Website or its content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or limits any liability, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or limited.
21. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless AfriSEED Foundation and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, representatives, and service providers from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from or relating to:
- your unlawful or unauthorized use of the Website;
- your material violation of these Terms;
- your violation of applicable law; or
- your infringement of another person’s rights.
This provision applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
22. Changes to These Terms
AfriSEED may revise these Terms periodically to reflect changes to the Website, its programs, organizational practices, or applicable legal requirements.
When the Terms are revised, the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this page will be updated.
Any material changes will apply from the effective date identified in the revised Terms, subject to applicable law.
Your continued use of the Website following the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
23. Governing Law
These Terms will be interpreted in accordance with the applicable federal laws of Canada and the laws of the province or territory in which AfriSEED Foundation maintains its registered office, without limiting any mandatory rights or laws that may apply based on a user’s jurisdiction or the nature of a particular transaction or activity.
Where a particular program, donation, partnership, volunteer relationship, contract, or other activity is governed by a separate written agreement, that agreement may contain its own governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions.
24. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted, limited, or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force to the extent permitted by law.
25. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional policies, notices, consent forms, or agreements expressly incorporated or made applicable to a particular Website activity, constitute the general terms governing use of the Website.
