Volunteer
The most extraordinary thing you can do with what you have learned is give it to someone who needs it next.
Why Volunteer
We are looking for people who understand that the children and youth we serve are not projects, they are seeds. And seeds do not need occasional attention. They need consistent, intentional, invested care from people who show up not because it is convenient, but because they are called.
If that is the kind of volunteer you are, there is a place for you here.
What You Bring to the Table
AfriSEED Foundation operates across education, mentorship, skills development, welfare, communications, and community building. The work is wide and the needs are real. Whatever your professional background, your life experience, or your area of passion, there is likely a place where what you carry meets what we need.
We do not believe that only certain kinds of people have something to offer. We believe that every person who walks through our doors brings a seed of their own knowledge, skill, perspective, and presence that a young person somewhere in our programmes has never had access to.
You may be a teacher, a lawyer, a designer, a counsellor, an accountant, a photographer, a developer, a coach, or simply someone who has lived enough life to know things worth passing on. Whatever you are, bring it. We will find the right place for it.
Where You Can Serve
Programme & Outreach
Support children and youth in our educational programmes through tutoring, literacy support, homework assistance, and academic mentorship. If you love learning and believe every child deserves access to it, this is your lane.
Mentorship & Life Coaching
Walk alongside a young person as a consistent, trusted guide. Share your professional journey, your lessons, your failures, and your wins. Sometimes the most powerful thing a young person needs is proof that growth is possible.
Skills & Vocational Training
Bring your trade, your craft, or your professional expertise into our skills development programmes. Whether you work in technology, business, agriculture, fashion, construction, or the creative industries, practical knowledge changes lives.
Communications & Advocacy
Help AfriSEED tell its story to the world. If you have skills in writing, design, photography, videography, social media, or public relations, your talent can expand our reach and amplify the voices of the seeds we serve.
Operations & Administration
If you have skills in project management, finance, human resources, legal services, or organisational administration, your expertise keeps the work moving.
Partnerships & Fundraising
Help us build the relationships and resources that sustain the work. If you have experience in donor relations, corporate partnerships, grant writing, or fundraising, you can directly expand what we are able to do for the children and youth in our care.
The Kind of People We Need
AfriSEED Foundation operates with a sense of calling, not just a mandate. We believe that the children and youth entrusted to us are placed in our path with intention. And we believe the same about the people who come to serve alongside us.
We are looking for volunteers who:
- Show up consistently and follow through on every commitment made
- Treat every child and youth with dignity, regardless of their background or condition
- Operate with integrity, understanding that these are not just beneficiaries, they are seeds entrusted to our care
- Are willing to be part of something long-term because seeds do not grow overnight, and neither does meaningful change
If this describes you, we want to hear from you.
What to Expect
When you volunteer with AfriSEED Foundation, you are stepping into a structured, supported, and purposeful experience. We do not bring people in and leave them to figure it out. We onboard every volunteer with care, match them to the area where they will have the greatest impact, and provide the context and support they need to serve well.
Here is what the process looks like:
01. Apply
Fill out our volunteer application form. Tell us who you are, what you carry, and where you feel called to serve.
02. Connect
A member of the AfriSEED team will reach out to learn more about you, discuss available opportunities, and find the right fit for your skills and availability.
03. Onboard
Before you begin, we walk you through our programmes, our values, and the communities we serve. We want every volunteer to understand not just what to do, but why it matters.
04. Serve
You are now ready to serve with your skills alongside us.
05. Stay Connected
Volunteering with AfriSEED is not a one-time transaction. We build community among our volunteers.
